planetary lake lander ... gigapans .. timemachine ..

Lately I've been spending some time creating gigapans, movies, and even a timemachine with the data we have so far from the Planetary Lake Lander project.

All these images are of a lake Laguna Negra in the high Andes near Santiago, Chile.  NASA and SETI are working together to study the climate change in that area and also collecting data to help design a possible future NASA mission to Titan.

I just wanted to compile everything in one spot to make it easier for the science and engineering team to find.

Some select higher resolution Gigapans (our default Gigapans are 3x11 images but while we were in the field we took some higher resolutions ones for our enjoyment)

my lovely garden

like I mentioned in my first profile, one of my relaxation hobbies is gardening ... Here are some  cool gigapans and a time-lapse video I made over the last 2 years.
Before: After:

and a video to show how as my garden grows, my grass dies.  TODO: Really need to invest in a sprinkler system.

Over the last two years, I've been using the square foot gardening method for the planter's bed and it's really worked out nicely.

a little bit about me

I've never been big into reading or writing blog, but lately I've been feeling that it would be nice to have one space where I can collect all my thoughts/experiences/interests.  As of now the target audience for this blog is just me and so please excuse me if it is super boring :).

Quick facts about me:
  • I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and now live in the Silicon Valley so, yes .. I am a valley girl for life.. like totally.
  • Received my Bachelor's (2000) and Master's (2001) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.  My area of focus was Mechatronics aka Robotics (218 alum.)
  • Currently work as the lead hardware engineer at NASA Ames Research Center in the Intelligent Robotics Group.
Interests:
  • Dogs! I have two hilarious rescues, Bobby and Sammy.
  • Started taking ballet at Western Ballet in Mountain View, CA about 2 years ago and love love love it!
  • Gardening.. currently have a booming homemade planter's bed with lots of veggies and fruit, and lots of fruit trees (persimmon, lemon, pomegranate, pluot, and tangerine)
  • and of course ... Robots, Space, and all things tech.
